Title: Child Support Issues in NYS
Post by: j-mann on Aug 24, 2005, 06:22:38 AM
Me and my son's mother each have my son 50% of the time and I have that in writing in the form of a court order.  Before the cort order was determined, my child support payments have been $75.00/week.  Everything is split down the middle:  Clothes, toys, winter clothers, school supplies, sports, etc.  Does anyone know if it is feasible to get my child support payments modified because I have him half the time?  It seems fair to not have to pay child support at all, but I also know how the justice system works.  Oh yeah, she also gets to claim him as a dependant every year on her taxes.

Please let me know, any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

if you're paying child support, why are you also paying for his clothes and other stuff?  that's what child support is for.

do you make more money than your Ex?  if you do, you could still owe CS because your CS would enable your child to live at the same standard of living at both homes.
