Title: Mediation Update
Post by: heptikus on Oct 05, 2004, 08:07:42 AM
Last Friday I was to have another mediation meeting with my ex.  When I arrived at the mediators office I was told that the meeting was cancelled last Wednesday.  Apparently my ex called and insisted that her attorney be present at all future mediation meetings.  Is this normal?  I'm told that if her attorney is there my attorney must also be there.  In other words, my bill just tripled and the likelihood of an agreement just evaporated.  The next meeting is set for late October.

I just went through mediation and both of our attorneys had to be present.  I know how you feel about it being cancelled.  Mine was cancelled the morning of the mediation and then wasn't scheduled until over a month later.

One question, why didn't you receive a phone call or something letting you know mediation had been cancelled??? Doesn't sound like you are receiving any communication from your attorney.
