Title: Daddy's has rights too.........right?
Post by: amandakalyn on Sep 30, 2004, 01:05:16 PM
I need some help. My boyfriend has a 15 months old daughter with his ex-girlfriend. He has visits every 1st, 3rd, 5th weekend of the month. Well within the last few months she has a different reason for him not being able to see her. It is killing him not to see his little girl. He pays child support every month and trys to see her. And she wont let him. Every time the baby DOES come over she is so scared of him she wont stop crying. Also, the mother puts the baby is beauty pagents every other weekend so that he cant see her then. And it is always on HIS weekend.  If anyone can help us I would greatly accept it. Thanks ahead of time. Oh yeah. Every time we cant have her we call the cops and they refuse to do anything about it. All they tell us is to go to court but court takes awhile to get into. Should they do more? Please Help Us!!!!!!

Cops can't enforce "civil" divorce decrees.  They are there for the ciminal laws.

The main way to enforce what he's entitled to is to file a "Motion to Show Cause" with the family court where jurisdiction is.

I suggest you (or rather he) go down to the county courthouse and see if they have the forms already done up which he needs to file.

The biggest thing is to be able to prove that she denied the time and to have a good record that shows a consistent denial on her part.

Since the daughter is in these "beauty pagents" work on getting proof that this is what the daughter has been doing to support what you're saying.  (Anyways, dad might like to have the information for his personal purposes to keep track of his daughter).

It's an uphill battle.....but it's well worth it and he has to fight it now before it totally gets out of hand.
