My first Supervised visitation with my daughter was an amazing success, she was shy at first but soon became playfull and fun... not one tear all the time I was there :)

I brought toys and a video camera and now have lots of happy pictures from this beautiful 1 year old.

However, My GF, waiting outside in the car had a diferent experience.
a car circled around several times with two menacing guys in it, they stopped by her window and demanded to know where I was,
She was shocked at this and said nothing. then one guy told her he'll find me (He knew my name).

She was very scared and the moment I was out of the Building, She insisted we go,,, now.

I plan to have her with the Video camera next time to capture any events while I'm inside, and I plan to have a Voice recorder in case I am approached.

My question is this...
If these Strangers see me leaving the Building and approach me in any way..

There are 3 things that might happen next time I have a supervised visit, but all will be recorded.

1, Threatening behaviour
2, A Mild Assult
3, An Attack

What will it do to the EX's custody case if something (Listed above ) or similar happens to me?

I told my Lawyer about everything and he said he would look into it and probably have a policeman near by, I asked he be in plain clothes.
I really need to know if the ex is planning to circumvent the law or get me off the case by foul play.

I hope you can advise me, or give any possible scenarios to think on.
Thanks all..

Visitation Issues / Supervised Visitation

Hello All.

After months of waiting for the wheels of Justice to turn in the great state of Nebraska, I'm finally going to see my daughter (Supervised) for the interim, (Between now and when the main Custody case starts)

How much (roughly) do the supervisors cost?
what's the best thing I can do with a superisor watching me for an Hour with my daughter?
what should I expect?

this is for a "Getting to know you" period since it's been almost a year since I last saw my daugher, and have been fighting to ever since.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hello All,
I'm Hoping that someone can give me hope in all this mess I'm in.
On July 3rd this year My Ex girlfriend gave birth to a Beautiful Baby girl.

We had split up about a week before she knew she was pregnant, Which is fine since we parted amicably and were still friends. I helped with paying Dr's bills and shared the cost of Baby's clothes and Items needed.

Since then I started dating a Girl whom the Ex Girlfriend took a dislike too. and because of her "Gut Feeling" about my Girlfriend She refused to let me have my daughter Unsupervised. so for about a month and a half I would have to go to her place to see my daughter.

She then moved to Nebraska (We're in Kansas) to live with her Mom for 'What She said' was a month and then to move back to Kansas.

That was 3 months ago and I havent heard much since then, Basically she emptied her storage and now it seems like she is going to perminantly live in Nebraska (Though she said she is still trying to move back to Kansas)

I spoke to a lawyer about "Unsupervised visits" and was given Legal aid to fight for Joint custody.

I thought "leave it to a Judge to decied" as our personal aggreement was out of the question.

So I paid all I had to the Legal aid and talked to a Lawyer who (About a week Later) said that the judge might not even listen to the case because mother and Daughter were in Nebraska and I was in Kansas.

I don't have good Job right now and all my savings have paid for a Lawyer and a filing fee For What? "I wonder"  Just so a judge can throw it out.??
I asked about filing in Nebraska but the lawyer said that if I do without filing in Kansas first then I am Legally Accepting the fact that The ex Girlfriend is residing in Nebraska and that I don't mind if my daughter stays there.
But I run the risk of a Judge saying that I need to file in Kansas!!

Please advise what should I do.

1. I have no Money for multiple lawyers or filings.. I have a one chance shot at this.
2. The baby was concieved and born in my home town, in Kansas and moved to Nebraska about 1 1/5 months after.
3. She is not a Special Needs baby, not breast fed or anything.
4. I'm Paying voluntary Child support (Above what is recommended)
5. I'm scared.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Custody Issues / Is my Lawyer right...

I paid my Lawyer to help me in a custody dispute with the GM, She and I are practically the same in our ability to raise my Daughter, only she lives in a town with a couple of members of her family there.

I took Child First aid and Life Savers (AHA) as well as a parenting course, She took a parenting course like wise.

So dispite some outbursts to the supervisor from the GM and her Mother.
You could say that we are 50/50 for capability,

So My Lawyer writes to me and advises that I should drop the custody Battle in favor of visitation (2 Wkends amonth and 1 month in the summer + various Holidays)
He said the case has tilted in GM's Favor.. Because the Police havent been called to their house, She moved to a place thats not as much of a crap Hole as their first place, and She has displayed a "Willingness" to cooperate.
And that Although he is willing to continue the "Custody" fight, He advises that the chances of a favorable decision by the judge was not good,  and that it could damage the "Spirit" of cooperation between me and the GM.

The reason I went for Custody was because she was saying I could see my daughter, But frustrating any attempt at a visit that would make it impossible for me to have any time with my daughter. purposfully in the hope that I would just give up and abandon her (My Daughter).

I wanted custody because I would have been fair.

I have reams of Emails going back and fourth that prove she was deliberately frustrating any visitation.

why is my lawyer advising me to give it up?

Is he trying to get out of a court fight?

Is he being lazy?

I could have just filed the papers for visitation myself, I would have been garenteed visitation regardless, Based on me not having a bad record of anyting whatsoever, and me having an appropriate place for my daughter to stay and no

Has anyone been through the same?

If so, What happened?

 Thanks in advance.
