Write them letters (or better yet, go talk to them) and tell them you have reason to believe that your child's health and well being is in jeopardy.  They are mandatory reporters and are required by law to report ALL 'suspected' abuse and withholding treatment is considered abuse and neglect.  If they fail to report it, they face serious repercussions.

Many will tell you that going to CPS is a waste of time and I would tend to agree with them, but I also think a lot of it has to do with the source of the initial information.  They have a tendency of blowing off parents, especially when there's a divorce and/or custody is in dispute.  But when they are ordered to investigate based on allegations coming from law enforcement, schools, and medical personnel, they are scrutinized much more closely and will follow thru more effectively.....in most cases.  So use the professionals as your voice for your child.

Above all, keep on it.  The squeaky wheel gets the grease and you are the ONLY voice for your child right now.  You will run into road blocks but keep plugging away and keep pounding on doors until there are no doors left to pound.  Your child's life depends on it.

Father's Issues / None here..........

I remember back WAY when I graduated from HS when I was told that if all 18 MALES didn't sign up for the draft, they could be jailed and denyed access to college.  I couldn't believe it!

Then in 1989, along comes my son.  His father was astounded when I told him that if we had a girl, I would force her to sign up for the draft when she was 18 or I would withdraw ANY support (including college) from her.  So I asked him why he could allow a son of his but not a daughter, and he couldn't answer me.

I know all the crap about distractions and the usual BS about PMS, but when you have a military with a 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' attitude about gays in the military, tell me what's the difference?  I have no problem with gays in the military, but common sense tells you that if women would be a 'distraction', then gay males would too, right?  Same thing in my book.

JMO, but there is NO reason why women shouldn't be required to sign up.  And if I was 18 (again!), I would in a heartbeat.

Click on 'Top' at the top left-hand corner of this page, scroll down to 'Dear Socrateaser' and click on that.  That is the forum of our resident legal guru.  On his first page there is a link to the 'Mandatory posting guidelines', read that first before you post.  The reason for the guidelines is to allow Soc to answer and help as many people as possible as quickly as he can, since he's doing this ALL free to us!

'On a side note, i would like to share with you the fact that Tilly's is committed to the education and future of our youth. At Tilly's, we see ourselves as inseparable part of the community. For that reason, we have dedicated significant resources to help and support various charity organization, as well as create incentive programs which increase the literacy of our youth. Under no circumstance will Tilly's ever promote or encourage violence, as a matter of fact, most of us are parents and the idea of promoting violence among our youth is appalling to us as well.'

If that's the case, how did the damn merchandise get into their stores to begin with????? Makes you wonder just how much of that letter was sugar-coated........

Shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess, but can anyone really verify that they took the crap off the shelves???

I USED to have some respect for Steve Irwin, but not anymore!  And his wife can't be much better if she condoned it!  Now, I know these guys are the best in the world at what they do, but GET REAL!  Even they must realize that these animals are unpredictable at best, so they have absolutely NO excuse!  I hope they BOTH get lambasted for it.  Maybe taking their newborn away from them for a while will make them rethink their priorities??

Now you've got to hustle.  Be in an atty's office at 8 am. on the 2nd and get a request for an emergency hearing filed.  there are jurisdictional issues and she must bewith the kids in that state for 6 months before that state can have jurisdiction.  So if you file and get her served, she MUST come back to Indiana to court or you will win everything you ask for by default.

I will be away from a computer for the next few days, but wanted to wish all my friends here a very blessed holiday.  I pray that you all are able to spend it with the ones you love and for strength to those of you who may not.  May God bless you all! :)

If I were one of them and standing in his court, I'd just tell him 'Lock me up, your honor.  I'm not 'allowed' to see them at Christmas anyway, so what difference does it make?'
