I too got that email and several variations of it. If you go to urbanlegends.com they have it listed under most popular emails. There is a statement from her company stating that yes they did give money to Tides but that it all went to bettering education.  If I remember correctly it is a long statement and mostly it made me wonder why they didn't just come out and talk about it before instead of everyone taking notice once it hit the internet. They had to know that it would come out and might be taken out of context if what they say is true. Still makes ya wonder though.
