Just an update... my sister was in court all morning trying to be allowed to fly the kids up to Seattle for the weekned. She won that right.
We will do our best to see that the kids know it will be OK to live down there, nothing up here will change, including our love for them.

It was odd though, because a lady at my dentist office today told me she had the same judge and did not like some of his sexist comments to her, and my sister said waiting for their turn this morning the jugde roasted another woman in the court.

Could it be that a certain judge might have a problem with woman/mothers? Is this something that people have seen here?

Also, told my sister about this site and the information that could be an asset to her, also my father who has done everything humanly possible to help. Its possible they might join to get some help also.

Is it true that a GAL can be appointed at anytime? My other question, if this whole case started here, and the CP is now living with the kids in CA, after 6 months can he move the case to there? If so, is there a way to stop that now?

Again, thanks for any help...

Woodland Hills is in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles to be exact.  I grew up there.

Once the kids are there for 6 months the custody will be argued there, the Van Nuys Court House most likely.

[IF A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE IN CUSTODY
ALREADY THEN YOUR SISTER CAN NOT DISPUTE THE CUSTODY
UNLESS AN EXTREME CHANGE HAS OCCURED.  I AM SURPRISED
THAT A COURT ALLOWED FOR THE MOVE SINCE SEEING THEIR
MOTHER WAS GOING TO BE SO DIFFICULT NOW]

[ THERE ARE MANY JUDGES THAT ARE "PRO" MOM OR
"PRO" DAD.  USUALLY A GOOD ATTORNEY WILL KNOW WHO
THEY ARE AND ASK FOR A CHANGE AS LONG AS THE JUDGE HAS
NOT MADE ANY DECISIONS YET.  SOUNDS LIKE SHE IS STUCK
WITH THIS ONE]

[WHAT IS YOUR SISTER TRYING TO FIGHT? IS SHE WANTING TO APPEAL
A CUSTODY DECISION?  I THOUGHT THAT AN EVALUATOR ALREADY
GAVE A DECISION ON CUSTODY.  TO STOP IT FROM GOING TO CA
YOU HAVE TO OBJECT AND HAVE ENOUGH PROOF TO KEEP IT IN WA.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS NOT EASY EVEN WHEN THE ODDS SHOULD
BE IN ONES FAVOR.  REMEMBER I STOOD IN FRONT OF A COURT
COMMISIONER LAST WINTER A LISTENED TO HIM ALLOW MY CASE TO
HAVE JURISIDICTION IN CA WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THROWING
THE BOOK AT MY EX.  IT IS AN UNFAIR SYSTEM.  HER EX MAY BE TRYING TO GO FOR CHILD SUPPORT IN CA HOWEVER!  BECAREFUL BECAUSE
CA HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST IN THE NATION.  YOUR SISTER COULD WIN
FINANCIAL JURISDICTION TO STAY IN WA.

Can the whole case end up being heard in CA? (He shows more assets down there so the support checks from her are small). I guess i mean after the fact? The judge heard it ups here, made rulings on the move to CA, and just yesterday approved the parenting plan.

My concern is can the CP have the entire case reviewed and moved to CA after 6 months?

wendl

he would need to request that WA realise jurisdiction thru the courts.
