Does anyone know much about tax laws?My husband pays support year round/every year without delay for his daughter. We have never been able to claim her on our tax return.BM countless new husbands/boyfriends have every year. Most only work a month or two out of the whole year. How can it be legal for these people to be even getting this much back, working such a short time?Drawing help from the goverment.I'm talking 4 or 5 thousand each tax return. When my husband pays extra every year in support, buys school clothes and countless other items through the year.I know this sounds terible to some that im wineing about it.But it gets upsetting,new-S-dad work three weeks this year, and theyll get their useal 4 or 5 thou. And we'll see hardly anyhting spent on her,if anything at all!And countless items for the S-dad an BM.Were when we get our tax return any and all money we receive for our child goes on our child. And it would be the same for her.I guess this post became a vent along with questions.Sorry!!!!

Hi, I'm a SM to my husbands Daughter and we have and 8 year old son.Who is the light of my life.We live in the southern part of the state, back in the country. We have my SD about three weekends a month. With lots of problems with BM,S-DAD and BM parents at times. But keep the faith that things will get better.

We have learned that the only help shell get while here is through us.That BM cannot be counted on in a time of need.To not let the fact he's the NCP hold us back. And we called and asked what they would consider urgent care needed. We both feel bad now that we just didnt take her.We wont make the same mistake.Still BM is saying we are over reacting.Next time we are just going to take her if need arise.I feel bad for SD that BM weekend out is more important.I dont know were peoples minds are!

The child gets sick alot! And Bm does this deal were she wont answer the phone untill it's close to or the time its ready for her to go back.A couple weekends ago SD came here real sick!!Her fever didnt go lower than 101.0.Couldnt get any meds down her or food.Could only reach BM once and her response was give her and asprin she'll be okay.Dad told her she needs to go to the doctor .BM tells him again give her the pill and if she dont get better call me back.He mention maybe i'll take her up.To which she replieds you cant,i have custody.Dad tried again later and she couldnt be reached.SD spent weekend very sick and weak here.

My husband gets a news letter from child support about twice yearly. And the info was on that.Maybe the differance is in the counties. They also usely have a seek work program that you can do,that will keep you from going to jail or loseing your license. At lease this one does.It doesnt stop they past due amount from adding up thou.My hubby's ex tried to stick him in jail and/or lose his license and the seek work program kept him out.And he was only behind a month when he got laid off once.        We got back on or feet when he and i both got new jobs,so she took him back to court for more money. She got it of course! All because her new husband and her didnt want him comeing for viset's.They wanted the money he payed, but didnt want him around. And this was their try at keeping him away.He was trying to make visits every other weekend and phone calls on the other's,and that didnt fit in to their plans. I hope you all have better luck than we have over the years.  good luck.

Just received "community update paper" for fall 2005 from child support office telling of guidelines and such. One of the things they had on it was the following crteria for license suspension.1-most use other legal means frist before initiating suspension.2-they must mail you a default notice, stating a license suspension may occur.3-you must owe at least $3,000.00.4-you must have missed at least six consecutive months of payments. This info is most likely to late to help but i thought i'd post just in case.  Best of luck.
