Holidays, Vacations, and Special Days Schedule

Use this template as a starting point from which to develop a holiday and vacation
schedule both parents can live with. In some cases you may not need to change a thing, in other cases you may need to edit and alter the text extensively to fit your particular situation.

Holidays, vacations, and special days will have priority over the regular schedule. The regular schedule will resume for the other parent on the next available scheduled time.

Holidays

A. Easter school vacation will be alternated between the parents beginning on the last day of school, from school dismissal to when school resumes on the Monday following the holiday.

The father will have even numbered years.

The mother will have odd numbered years.

B. The Thanksgiving school vacation will be alternated between the parents to begin Wednesday immediately following school dismissal to when school resumes on the Monday following holiday.

The mother will have even numbered years.

The father will have odd numbered years.

C. Christmas/Winter Break:

First Part: From school dismissal the day Christmas school vacation begins to 11:00 A.M. Christmas Day. Resumes 9:00 A.M. December 26th to noon on the day that is midway through the Christmas school vacation. If the "midway day" is December 26th, the first part ends at 11:00 A.M. Christmas Day and does not resume on the 26th.

Second Part: From 11:00 A.M. Christmas Day to 9:00 A.M. December 26th. Resumes at noon on the day that is midway through the Christmas school vacation to when school resumes. If the midway day is December 26th, the second part continues through December 26th.

In even numbered years, the first part will be spent with the father, the second part with the mother.

In odd numbered years, the first part will be spent with the mother, the second part with the father.

D. Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends will be alternated between the parents.

Memorial and Labor Day weekends begin at school dismissal on the preceding Friday to when school resumes on the Tuesday following the holiday.

If Independence Day, as observed, falls on a Friday or Monday, access will begin immediately following school dismissal on the day preceding the holiday weekend to 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school on the day following the holiday weekend.

If Independence Day falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, access will begin immediately following school dismissal on the day preceding the holiday to 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school on the day following the holiday.

On odd numbered years, the mother will have Memorial and Labor Day, the father will have Independence Day.

On even numbered years, the father will have Memorial and Labor Day, the mother will have Independence Day.

E. All school or legal holidays that fall on Friday or Monday, not otherwise specified, will be with the parent having the child on that weekend. The weekend will begin on the last day of school immediately following school dismissal to when school resumes following the holiday.

Summer Vacations

Each parent may have the child for two weeks vacation each Summer. The vacation may be taken on two separate 7-day periods or one continuous 14-day period. The vacationing parent will provide the other parent with 30 days written notice, which will include a basic itinerary of the vacation. The vacation may not interfere with Mother's day or Father's day.

In the event of conflict with vacation plans, the mother's plans prevail in even number years and the father's plans prevail in odd number years.

The parent losing a Memorial, Independence, or Labor Day due to the other parent's vacation will have the child for the weekend closest to the next of those three holidays.

Special Days

A. The child will be with the father on his birthday and with the mother on her birthday.

If the birthday is on a weekday access will begin from after work of the receiving parent or immediately following school dismissal until 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school the following morning.

If the birthday is on a weekend access will begin at 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school the following morning if a weekday; 9:00 A.M. if on Sunday.

B. The child's birthday will be alternated between the parents.
If the birthday is on a weekday access will begin from after work of the receiving parent or immediately following school dismissal until 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school the following morning.

If the birthday is on a weekend access will begin at 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school the following morning if a weekday, 9:00 A.M. if on Sunday.

The mother will have even numbered years.

The father will have odd numbered years.

C. The child will spend each Mother's Day with the mother and each Father's Day with the father. The holiday commences at 9:00 A.M. and concludes at 7:00 A.M. or the resumption of school the following morning.
