Washington State....Interesting find.

I was out scouring the net for information about equal parenting time.  I was suprised to find this information at the Republican Party website for Washington State.

In Support of Equal Parenting Rights

Whereas, the equal value of fathers and mothers is not recognized in the upbringing of children which results in the devaluation of the American family, and

Whereas, in many cases of divorce, fathers have been denied their fundamental rights to have access to and raise their children resulting in psychological damage to the child, and

Whereas, fathers have experienced judicial discrimination in the implementation and enforcement of parenting and visitation plans, resulting in untold thousands of fathers who have lost their parental rights, their relationships with their children, their livelihood and their homes, and

Whereas, families and children in particular are permanently and critically weakened by the lack of fatherly involvement, and

Whereas, fathers and mothers are equally capable of parenting children and of supporting them,

Therefore, be it resolved that the Republican Party of Washington State supports the passage of legislation for expressing and implementing the equal value and treatment of fathers and mothers to:

establish laws for the preservation of family resources such as money, time, and energy;

create accessible, fast and fair dispute resolution with adequate controls to verify just outcomes;

implement equal treatment of fathers and mothers in matters of child support, visitation, and enforcement of parenting plans;

monitor judicial decisions via public reporting in a manner that clearly shows whether or not gender or racial bias is occurring;

establish laws which require judges within family court and family court investigators to write findings supporting their awards and decisions based on judicial precedent and statistically significant scientific evidence.
