OT, but do you know what this might mean?

I try and keep up with what BM is up to, which led me to watch the Riverside County California superior court website.  They have a ton of info on there which is great

Late 2003 BM got caught shoplifting, in Feb. 2004, she was convicted, had to serve several days in the sheriffs work program, and was on probation until Feb 2005.

In April 2004, proof of completion of the sheriff's work program was recorded in the file

In Jan 2005 she finished paying her fine, but I can't tell from the case report if she payed the victim restitution.

This info is all captured on the website in the case report.  From 1/05 until 4/05 there was nothing posted on her case, and I thought maybe that would be the end of it.  But then this month there is a posting that reads:

REFERRAL FORM: ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING PROGRAM FILED.

1. Any ideas what this is?   I would have thought that if this had to do with the sheriffs work program, it would have been filed last year.  (but I have no idea how these things work)

Thanks

Defendant appears to have had her sentence reduced for good behavior.
