We had our first UNSUPERVISED visit with my stepdaughter yesterday (finally!)  BM had been stalling for months on this, but finally the parenting coordinator told her she had to let her daughter come to our house.  It was a really good visit and we had a really good time.  My SD's shoe broke while the kids were playing, so we went to buy her another pair and to eat at McD's.  Well, like all kids do, when SD got home, she excitedly told BM about her day.  BM went ballistic.  She was really upset that we didn't call to get her approval for taking her to buy shoes.  What the heck???  Anyways, when my dad called her back (after she left us tons of messages) she proceeded with verbal abuse (she said she hopes he falls of a cliff and dies two separate times) in front of the kids.  She must have referred to their daughter as "my daughter" at least 15 times in the conversation.  Why do we have to put up with this behavior?
