''Boys are Stupid'' campaign target shortage. :)

From Glenn Sacks' email list:

As I mentioned on the show last night, we did not announce a new target for our campaign against "Boys are Stupid" products because we're having a difficult a time finding retail outlets which still carry them.

We were told that Bloomingdale's carries them, but when my producer called their store in Los Angeles the manager told him they used to carry the products but got an "order from corporate" to take all of it off the shelves about a week ago because "some radio show was leading a campaign against them." Holt Renfrew, a 170 year-old Canadian chain with outlets in most major Canadian cities, withdrew the products and apologized after being contacted by some Canadian His Side supporters. Stories about our campaign ran in many Canadian newspapers, including the Toronto Star, the Calgary Herald, and the Edmonton Journal.

By our count, since our campaign began on December 14, "Boys are Stupid" products have been knocked out of 3,355 retail outlets. The latest news about the campaign will always be available at Join Campaign Against 'Boys are Stupid' Products. Thanks again to all of you who have supported our campaign.

I think we kicked some major a$$!!

These results are from just a few short months. Everyone standing together. This can be accomplished on other things as well.

Makes a person think...

Wouldnt you just love to be sitting in on the board meeting for the producer of tHAT product,, as the blame game starts. heeheehee

Makes me wonder if they are still as arrogant and shitty about the public opinion now.

Kitty C.

Anyone game enough to contact them and ask what their 'opinions' of the products are now????

And maybe slip in an 'I told you so!' in the process?????  ;-)

Well.....I called the Yahoo Small Business Customer Service and asked them if I could create a store. I told them I was concerned about running afoul of their TOS that FatherTime posted.

I explained that I sold T-shirts and clothing that said "Girls Are Stupid Throw Rocks At Them", "Girls Are Smelly", "Girls Are Afraid Of The Dark" (a nitelight), and other 'humorous' sayings like that.

The silence was deafening. You'd have thought I was asking to sell child porn. The representative wasted no time in shutting me down, telling me that they would "never, ever" allow me to create a Yahoo store and sell "that kind of stuff".

"It's racially offensive" said the under-educated sales rep, confusing 'sexist' with 'racial'.  He made it clear, however, that my merchandise was unacceptable, according to the Yahoo TOS that I read to him.

I confirmed that if I did create a store like that, they'd take it down. "Absolutely" said the sales rep.

So.......I told him that I was officially lodging a complaint against the store at http://store.yahoo.com/wickedcoolstuff/boarestit.html, which sold THE EXACT SAME KIND OF MERCHANDISE, but focused on boys instead of girls.

Wow. Talk about an embarrasing silence. :)  lolololol

They actually made some lame-ass attempt at justifying this, until I basically told the sales rep to shutup and stop BS'ing me. I have lodged a formal complaint with Yahoo and will wait to see what they say. I can't wait.  :)
