Father in need of help

Over the past nine months my boyfriend and his wife have been having child custody issues. It started about 1 1/2 years ago when she started sneaking around behind his back with another guy taking there child to the austin to visit him, while telling Mike she was visiting relatives. Well she came clean after he found the text messages on her phone. Well anyways she moved out 5 months later and moved to dallas. We live in the hill country about 5 hours away. Every other weekend we drive other 4 hours to Waco or 2.5 hours to a small town to meet and pick up his daughter.

It has put a financial burden on us but we continue to do it it costs about 150 every weekend we have to pick her up plus loss of wadges because he has to get off work early to pick her up on thursday so it doesn't interupt Kylas weekend plans. Plus we have to find a babysitter for friday. Anyways we find it worth it so we do it. Plus we take her every weekend that she offers her to us. sometimes 4 to 5 weekends in a row. Kyla has things to do.

We have decided that the 3 year old girl is better off with us in a stable inviroment with less parting. In November last year she called Mike to inform his she had achohol poisoning and her parents would be driving the little girl back. stupid people. We have had her every holiday and school inservice day. Plus other weeks at a time as neccisary.
In january we informed kyla of our decision and she went balistic, saying she would kill herself if we ever tried to take her child away. We took it the help council and they told us good luck that we needed to get a lawyer and file papers. We did! They didn't even look at them.

She gave us the little girl for the summer on april 24th until august, shes in school here and is only seeing her mother every other weekend if that.
She has now filled for temporary custody, and we have no idea why. We have and she is settled. we go monday morning and are really worried if she wins she will just pawn the baby off on her mother for the rest of the summer. so she can still have her freedom.
We have good evidence that she is a big partier, pictures and her previous infliction.
Last night Mikes cousin called, Kyla had called and wanted her to testify agiainst him that he was a bad parent. We don't know what crap she is going to pull out.

If anyone has gone through one of these caould you give us a heads up on what we should expect, our lawyer said anything, but thats to broad.
Or if you have an idea on what we should bring to court with us let me know please
