I am trying to help my H with obtaining school records for an upcoming CS increase hearing we HOPE is the last one.  His middle D has dropped out of HS 1 1/2 years ago and he has gotten the run around from the school and now the School District.  We went to the Asst Superintendent a month ago with an affadavit requesting ALL records on this child for 3 years.  We have heard nothing.  His attorney also subpoena'd the truancy court for the records on his ex when she was brought up on charges and fined.  Living in Texas, they fine the parents of truant kids up to $500 per occurence.  I need to have a letter that I can present to the School so they are FORCED to give me the records.  Our hearing is set for January.  His ex is asking the court to continue CS on middle D who turned 18 3 months ago.  Along with a request for college money.  NOT!  His lawyer has told HER lawyer no already.  There is more but I don't want to take up a lot of time.  Please point me in the right direction so I can go to the school soon!  Thanks!

Read the info here on TX

[A HREF=http://www.deltabravo.net/custody/access3.htm#TX]TEXAS SCHOOL RECORDS[/A]

Here is a link for letters

[A HREF=http://www.deltabravo.net/custody/reportcards.htm]Letter[/A]

And here is the FERPA information for you to read

[A HREF=http://www.deltabravo.net/custody/ferpa.htm]FERPA[/A]

Remember I believe they have 45 days to provide the information. Additionally you should contact/copy the letter to the school board office AND to the attorney who represents them.

Good luck!
