Custody case was filed in Dallas county , Texas. I filed,, I LIVE in Ellis county Texas, which is adjoining Dallas county.

I won my custody case for my daughter.

The mother, who originally lived in Dallas county,, no longer even lives locally,, she moved 160 miles away. I still live in Ellis county.

My question is this:

1.  Can I file future motions in Dallas county?

2. Will I have to file a motion to transfer to Ellis county? ( In the event you answer no to question 1).

Venue remains in the county where the last order was issued until a party files a motion to transfer in that court. Your facts state that your last action took place in Dallas county, therefore that remains the venue for your case.
