ss.  DH has asked that I ask you all if you know of a program will will record everything, emails, chats, im's, etc.  His mother is MAJOR pas'ing and has set him up with his first girlfriend, and we read in a chat (ss copied and we read) that she drinks every weekend and "wants him to move there to drink with her"  He has told her in the im chats that HE NEVER drank a drop in his life, but "loves her" and wants to move closer to her... His mother is encouraging this relationship just to get him to move...she cares nothing about the dangers of drinking and driving (which she allows this 14 year old boy to do with this 16 year old girl!!!)

HELP! WE are willing to pay anything if necessary...free would be great, but certainly not mandatory!  The sooner the better!!!!

SpyBuddy allows you to record and log all Yahoo Messenger instant messages, as well as AOL/MSN/ICQ/AIM Chats and Instant Messages. In addition, you can track all websites visited, all programs used, all windows opened, every keystroke pressed as well as all text/images sent to the clipboard, printed documents and more. An optional stealth mode provides even more monitoring features. The program can also secretly take snapshots of your desktop, allowing you to visually track any activity. An optional mailing feature allows you to automatically send the activity log to a specified email address on a user defined interval. This allows you for example to be aware of what s happening on your home PC - even if you`re at work. In addition to recording and logging, SpyBuddy also comes with a content filtering option, that allows you to block access to certain web sites. The program has an attractive, easy to use administration interface.

Sorry you have to resort to it.

Make sure it's legal to do and appropriate for its intended purpose.  It could come back around and bite you on the a**.

Peanutsdad

You can install any program you wish on computers in your own home for any purpose you wish.

The phone tap laws dont apply to the puter ;)

harlequin

What is the intended purpose?  If it's for personal use confronting someone with untruths, then OK.

But if it's an attempt to make some kind of legal hay, then it seems a little far-fetched.  It's just not clear to me what the specific intended purpose is.

Peanutsdad

Doesnt matter what the intended purpose is.

Party A feels inappropriate activity is occuring on a computer in their home by party B to child in question.

Thus, party A installs monitoring and recording software in childs computer in their home.

Should it be shown that there is indeed inappropriate activity on the computer,, yank the internet  on it.

If Party B raises a fuss, tough noogies. That computer is party A's.

harlequin

So the intended purpose is monitoring a child's activity on the computer, in order to stop child's inappropriate activity both on computer and behavior that occurs as an outgrowth of inappropriate activity on computer.

Totally cool.  I just needed to know what the specific purpose was.

Actually, one might be able to make a case for solicitation of a minor or contributing to the delinquency or whatever.   If they invite a sheriff's deputy to come over at chat-time and pretend he's the kid, maybe they can get her arrested.

I'm by no means against it.  I just wanted to know specifically what it was for.  I'm only talking praSLURPics here.  I can be as devious as the next guy.   This is not even devious, it's just protecting a child.  I say go for it.

Peanutsdad

The reason I know about this,,,, prior to my ex and I splitting, I caught her at inappropriate activity on my computer with her sons while they were at their dads.

I used to think that man was paranoid,, he has cameras around his home, motion operated floodlights all around, burgler alarms including the second floor, and infered beams on his walkway, by the doors and driveway that sound an alarm if stepped into.

Then when my case started, I got hold of her arrest records. Holy crow.

I've been threatened, had my brake lines cut on my car. My home now has security cams.

I have to admit this post is confusing. On one hand you're stating the mother has invited him to live with her so they can drink together, and he's told her he doesn't drink.  Then at the end you say she "allows them to drink and drive together." Is the cup half full or half empty?

Are you upset that the 14 year old met an "older" girl? She's only 16. How much of a difference can that be? It's very normal at their ages.
You make it appear that the mother "deliberately set him with a little hoochie." Maybe you should just give the kid a package of condoms. Leave them at his bedside. He'll get the message to practice "safe sex," if he's going to do "it" anyway.

I don't have a problem with him having a gf...but I do have a SERIOUS problem with her (THE GF, not BM) encouraging him to drink! And she has admitted on line that she drinks and drives....and is wanting him to to the same.  THAT I have a problem with.  Sorry if it sounded confusing...but even though legally he is "just"  my ss...he has been in my life since he was 4...and I love him and try to protect him as my own.  If I have to spy on the computer, so be it.  My right (and DH, who is the one who downloaded the software) as parents.

The PAS'ing is stemming from c.s. issues (mom keeps hounding ss that we are making her go bankrupt...uh, a little hard to do if you DON'T PAY and make plenty to pay it) and that is her motivation for setting up ss with this older girl (who's mother works with bm).  Our case mgr has already ruled he cannot change residences, so that is now a mute point anyway.  She can PAS away...won't change anything.  His attitude here at home is great, hasn't changed.

Even with the PAS'ing, I wouldn't have an issue with this girl if the drinking discussion hadn't happened.  I don't want him killed in a wreck, or have anyone else killed, kwim?
