I Need a Lawyer!!!
« on: Aug 26, 2006, 09:21:02 AM »
Somebody help me with this please. My wife filed for divorce first and is now changing it to a seperation. She got a lawyer that her Dad paid for. She filed back in December of 2005 when I got injured on the job. I was out of work seven months and whatever check came from workman's comp where sporatic.

She doesn't work and hasn't in the last ten years since my Son was born and I moved out of there into a shared situation a year ago. During that time I have continued to pay for everything where she is at. This includes my 10 year old son. I had to go to court to a preliminary hearing where it was decided that whatever money I couldn't pay her when I was out was owed to her. That day I came home and found out I was being evicted from my room. Because of all the bills falling behind I am in a catch 22 situation. I can't get a place to stay because I can't afford 3months rent just to get something so I am living at my job.(In the locker room) I work for NYC Transit but I can't get a lawyer and now she wants sole legal custody of my son and maintenace where I will be left with 500-600 dollars to survive with for the month.

I need a lawyer but I have to find one that will let me pay monthly, maybe break up the retainer fee into four payments.

Any ideas?
