I'm ordered by the court to notify then about any address, and employment changes that may happen. My ex-gfriend has moved, and has made no attempts to call the FOC about her change of address? What are the consequences for her, and what are my rights concerning this issue? The case is in Michigan. Thanks in advance

or change of employment.  Do you have a CS caseworker?  If so, contact them and see if there's anything that you can do.  Not sure that they will do anything, but you can ask.

I am a CP, and I always notify the CS office of any changes.  My ex has moved and changed jobs numerous times and has NEVER notified them of the changes.  Yet, he has NEVER gotten in trouble over it!

But what if they don't? What can you do? CP moved SS 2 months ago & has repeatedly refused to provide a new address & phone number. We know approximately where the BF house is, but don't know the number. We have now sent a certified letter to her previous address (her mom's) again requesting it. They never sign for certified letters but we sent it via 1st class too.

When my ex disappears, I have to do the detective work to find him (the CS doesn't do anything).  Luckily since I am in contact with his family, eventually I find out little tid-bits of information that lead me to where he is.  Do you know the town where your CP lives????  Your child support office is supposed to check with the post office to see if the CP filed a change of address.  This is what my CS office told me, but my ex never files a change of address.  Technically, there's no valid address for my ex.

I know that it's frustrating and it's not fair, but unfortunately I don't think that there's much that you can do about it except to bring it up the next time you go to court.

Is there a reason that the CP doesn't want you to know the address or phone number.  Have you been able to visit your SS in the last 2 months?

She doesn't tell us simply because she can. And she knows we can't send SS any cards, letters or present by mail. We are forced to go through her cell to get a hold of him (she doesn't answer calls or give messages).

But to answer your question, no there isn't a reason for her to withhold the address/phone number. We do see SS on our time unless she decides she doesn't want to show up.

Thanks for your response, I was just curious if there was any way to enforce this.

I only wish that my ex wanted to see our DD as much as you want to see your SS.  I would be thrilled if ex send DD a card!!!!  He does absolutely nothing!

The only thing that I can think of is to ask the CS office what you can do to make sure that she tells you where your SS is living and gives you a phone number where you can reach him.  Good luck to you!
