This has got to be the saddest situation I have ever heard of....

I don't know the whole details and second family questions will follow...
this is a friends situation.
BM and BD going through a nasty custody case involving two youngest children--8 and 10, I believe.
RO filed on both sides, the usual nasty custody things...

Their 18 yr old recently passed away---tragic and horiffying loss of this child.

BM is raising holy hell regarding BD and stepmom being at the services-can you imagine someone being so....gosh, I dont even have the word for this.....
BM stating she will have the police at service if BD and SM show up.....violation of RO things.....(SM not a part of RO)

Again, I am speachless......

Thoughts on this?

THis also got me thinking, should, God forbid, anything ever happen to a NCP's child---would any of you who are married to the NCP---attend services, if the relationship was like stated above? BM threatening to cause a scene?

Sounds like something I would be facing, and I would go.

Why?

EX#1 and I got through my OD's wedding in March -- it all went better than expected.

EX#2 and fake-wife knew their place when I took son to his BMX races (that's been two weekends now), peer pressure kept them in check.

Did you get my e-mail?  Dingbat me sent you one -- and then read your post.

Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!  Another one I'd like to take into a dark alley and leave there!  This piece of $hit isn't fit to be called a mother!

Wild horses couldn't drag me away from being at the service of my child.  I'm of the impression that the service hasn't been held yet.  To tell you the truth, RO be damned.  I'd be going and even if the PBFH called the cops, it's HIGHLY doubtful that they'd do anything at a funeral.  More likely they'd just stand at the periphery and observe (which ain't a bad idea, you know?).  And even if they cast all decency aside and arrest the BD, I'd be taking this as far as possible, including getting the media involved as much as possible.  Public opinion on this will vilify the BM!

I am as disgusted and horrified about this as you are, One.

The more I think about it, the more a police escort arraged by the BD doesn't sound like a bad idea.  Think it's something that could be looked into?  But to be honest, I'd like the BM to pitch a fit and call the cops.  Prove to the world just how big of an idiot she truly is!
Handle every stressful situation like a dog........if you can't play with it or eat it, pee on it and walk away.......

Wild horses couldn't keep me away!!

I would do as Kitty has suggested.  Call the local Police and ask them if they can provide an "escort" or ask them what they can do to protect themselves because they are going.

If she causes a scene, she is going to make herself look like an idiot.

Unbelievable how immature some people can be.   I keep debating on asking our PBFH when she is planning on getting out of High School :-).

well personally I would violate the RO to go to my childs wedding, let them put me in jail. that is just soooo wrong.

trying to get friend to pop in here for information too~

I would not attend because dh and I have a really bad relationship with the ex and her family. They tried to start trouble with dh's family and us so we just wrote the whole lot off. We don't need the crud.

I think if anything happened to sd even dh would not go because he would have to deal with so much crud from the ex. We could slip into the funeral home after hours to pay our respects and thats most likley what we would do.

In all fairness the ex would never be welcome if dh passed away. She started trouble at dh's grandfathers funeral and we were very close to grandpa. She just never learned where her place really is. She's very very messed up.
