My ex would like to negotiate a lump sum payment for child support. Would this hold up in court if either of our incomes increased significantly?
You cannot be certain that a "lump sum" payment will stand up in court at a later date. Courts are notorious for disregarding agreements like this, citing the "best interests of the child" as a way around it.
