My husband has 3 kids from a previous marriage.  After some recent problems...we have been looking over the divorce papers and have some questions that we need answered.  No where in the papers does it state when the child support end?  18, 20, 21?  He was suppose to be able to claim the kids ever year as per the divorce, but this year she claimed the kids, stating that the law was if she made more then the child support then she could.  No where in the documents does it say that..she says it was the MO law.  We are going to find all of this out..but was hoping to find some information before going to a lawyer.  the oldest will be 21 in June.  He works..he makes $10 an hour..he was going to college but dropped out....I don't think we should still be paying child support for him.....Anyone have any ideas, or know anything about this.  [email protected]   Thank you!

still paying cs at 21????????

Umm you need to tell the mom that the pocket has dried up for that kiddo.
unless it states father is to help support college he has past the place where cs is ordered and may be able to ask for the overages back.

In MO the law says CS ends at 18 unless the child is a full-time student in an approved facility, in which case CS continues until age 22.  Even then the child has significant reporting obligations to the NCP.  The law is quite specific.  Do  a google search under Missouri statutes and look up CS....

we live in michigan and child support stops at 18 or when child graduates from high school.  each state has their own rules.

check with your friend of the court office or child support agency in your area
good luck
