Child support and a second marriage

I got married a little while back, my dh and I keep all our finances seperate, his ex doesn't need to know how much I make.

We keep all finances seperate etc just in case he falls behind on cs, no JOINT accts, reason being if he does get behind in my state they can put a lien on bank accounts property etc.

Luckily I owned my home prior to the marriage therefore it is no considered community property and she can't touch it.

Seems like hell keeping finances seperate but my dh was looking out for me and my child cuz he knew his ex would try and go after us for more money since I make more then my dh does.

You may want to check with your local support office though cuz I am not sure if al state exclude spouses income.
