i have 2 children. my son is 30, my daughter 28. recently discovered that the parent of custody (their mother) never alerted the court that they had turned 18. all these years i've been billed by the state for probation.

have now filed a pro se motion to emancipate and vacate child support retroactive to each of their 18th birthdays.

here's the question. . . in some states "retroactive vacating" is not do-able is it possible in new jersey?

Not sure I understand what you mean by "billed by the state for probation"....

From what other people here have written, NJ is a funny state about emancipation -- kids are usually older than 18.

Can I ask why you didn't do this 8 years ago?
