Important Newspaper Article Coming

Phyllis Schlafly has been a leader of the pro- family movement since
1972, when she founded the Eagle Forum. She was appointed by President
Regan to the Commission on the U.S. Constitution's Bicentennial, and is
the author or editor of 20 books. Her most recent book, Feminist
Fantasies, is a collection of essays on feminism in the media, work,
home, and military.

For unknown reasons, conservative leaders have ignored what judges have
been doing to children in parent v. parent custody cases. Liberals have
had a wide open playing field, to advance their harmful agenda. Mrs.
Schlafly is however breaking this pattern, with a major family law
article. She sent an advance copy to Professor Baskerville, and excerpts
from it are below:

One impressive vote last November second has been overlooked by the
media. By 85 to 15 percent, a ballot initiative in Massachusetts
approved equal legal and physical custody of children whose parents are
divorced. ++ Fathers are starting to fight back. During 2004, federal
class action suits were filed against 46 states on behalf of an
estimated 25 million non-custodial parents, primarily fathers, claiming
violation of their right to equal custody of their children. ++ The
gay-rights lobby has a national strategy based on federal "equal
protection" to get their day in court to demand marriage licenses. What
we really need are laws ensuring that children of broken homes have
equal access to their fathers and mothers.

She mentions the stunning shared parenting vote in Mass, the federal
class action lawsuits, and how the equal protection arguments liberals
are using applies to fathers.

Action

Mrs. Schlafly's article is syndicated, which means it could be carried
by most newspapers in the nation. E-mail or call the editor of your
local newspaper, and ask them to: "Please publish an upcoming syndicated
column by Phyllis Schlafly about problems in family law courts." Also
tell them if they do this, you will purchase extra copies of that
edition. Check the paper each day (it should be released between the
10th and 20th of this month), then clip the article and send to your
state and federal legislators. Also send to the low-down judges in your
area, particularly appeal and supreme court "justices". Get the address
to the courthouse from the yellow pages, and just write the judge's name
on the envelope. They know who Mrs. Schlafly and the Eagle Forum are,
and don't want to get on her wrong side.

This is a very important project for family law reform. One of the most
influential conservatives in the nation is giving a green light to
reform efforts. We need as many newspapers as possible to publish this,
and then get that information to as many elected officials as possible.
