Parenting Consultant

I am new to these boards and so hope this question is not too redundant.

We are going to be seeing a parenting consultant to resolve "parenting issues" between my husband and his ex-wife.  She would like for Stepson (7 years old) to be involved in 8 weeks of summer day camp.  We think that's a bit much, especially since by the end of last summer when we did this he was begging to stay home and play with his friends.

Her other issues are more trivial.  She would like for me, the second wife, to be banned from ever volunteering at Stepson's school.  She wants ongoing therapy for Stepson (who is at the top of his class and has about a dozen good friends).  She is questioning our responsibility toward Stepson in regard to his hygiene and homework.

My question then is: What do you all know about how the Parenting Consultant works. Our guess is that she is going to try to use these issues to gain more custody/parenting time.  One of the things in the Parenting Consultant stipulation is that the P.C. can recommend a parenting time evaluaton.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
