>From the international edition of the NY Times, 6 May 2004, faxed to me
by Ed Stephens, president of the Greater NY chapter of NCFM,
who picked it up in Moscow, Russia:

"Making Connections to End Domestic Violence"
by Sheryl Cates
Executive Director, National Domestic Violence Hotline

Below the op-ed is centered this notation:
Learn more at microsoft.com/issues

The opening sentence is:

"On any given day in America, three women are murdered by their husbands
or boyfriends, and untold thousands are battered."

The lack of inclusive intent in this biased op-ed is represented by this
sentence:

"Aging telecommunications and computer systems continue to hamper the
Hotline's efforts to help women, children, and families in need."

Ms Cates goes on to talk about how corporations such as Nortel Networks,
IBM, and Microsoft are donating equipment, software and technical
expertise to support Sen. Joseph Biden's (D-DE) effots, including his
introduction of "The Domestic Violence Connections Campaign Act of 2004"
"which would authorize federal suport for training to help Hotline
advocates use new technologies most effectively."

There is, of course, no mention that in most communities there is no
place to send male victims and their families for services.
