making laws fair

 Where do we, THE PEOPLE start changing laws? I know there are online petitions, but would you recommend any? I found one at http://www.petitiononline.com/usncpr/petition.html and I wonder how much they really help. I'm facing a judge for a re-eval of my income for CS. This same judge was straight UNFAIR last time. She'll probly rip away from exactly what I need to better MY finances, but if there is a source to HELP make laws fairer for future dads and moms, indulge us. Thanks.

Your only hope is by finding a large number of voters in a jurisdiction who are prepared to go on the record that they will vote against a particular judge or legislative representative, unless certain specific laws are changed.

Absent that, I suggest you tighten your belt and keep your pants zipped, because that's all you can do.
