From my perspective, the best approach for a database is to only use
Œquantitative¹ measures ¬ numbers that are as objective as possible. That would include:

1. Incomes of the parties.
2. Age of the parties.
3. Who filed first.
4. The basis for granting the divorce and by who (mutual incompatibility would be a no-fault, where as anything else would require a determination of fault and could affect the ruling.)
4. Length of the marriage.
5. Amount and duration of spousal support ¬ if any.
6. Number of children.
7. Type of custody ¬ sole vs. shared and mom vs. dad
8. If either party requested shared custody.
9. Any deviation from the calculated amount of child support.

I'm sure that there are other things that could also be used.

From the above information, it should be possible to establish track records for spousal support (normalized for length of marriage and incomes), any bias in custody rulings and if the court is encouraging involvement by both parents.

If it is possible to just have your Clerk of Courts pull files so you can find the information, that would be the best and least expensive approach.

That wouldn¹t be practical for larger counties. For example, Cuyahoga
County has 5 judges in the domestic relations division and Lord only knows how many magistrates.
