Wow, 7 whole months in jail for killing a baby. You can serve more time than that for mistreating a dog.

Convicted Baby Killer Released After Seven Months

January 27, 2004

A judge Tuesday granted the early release of a woman convicted of killing her newborn baby and then putting his body in a trash can.

Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Judge Howard Zwelling ordered three years of probation for Jennifer Bryant before he released her. She had served almost seven months of her three year sentence.

Zwelling also ordered the 23-year-old to e-mail high schools and colleges throughout Ohio and offer to speak about what happened to her as a result of the pregnancy.

Prosecutors opposed her early release.

Bryant's baby was discovered February 4th, 2002, wrapped in a blanket in a trash bin behind the home she shared with five women near Muskingum College, where she was a student.

Bryant told police the baby was stillborn. Autopsy results showed the baby was born alive and died of suffocation.

Around my neck of the woods they release folks due to overcrowding in prison.  Not a good idea in my book, but it is a reality we live with.

Given the option of this woman or a violent felon, I pick this woman.  I wonder if he considered sterilizing her first?  Just a thought.   Sick humor aside, maybe her community service will benefit some other person.

seems some females get easy treatment even when they kill their young.

Sounds about right.  These days you rarely see criminals serve out their entire sentences.

Brent, you do realize that until it's outlawed, partial birth abortion can technically take place right up to when the "mother" goes into labor.  There have been articles about a doctor in the UK stating that infants with "problems" should be euthanized.  This mindset is why the woman only served 7 months.

I will make a guess as to the content of her emails....she is now a shill for Planned Parenthood.  "Don't do what I did, go the clinic and have that piece of tissue removed.  That way it's legal"!

To the reader:  I am regretfully pro choice in limited circumstances.

Question that begs asking here is this: If the father of the child suffocated it, and put it in a dumpster,, how long would he have served?

Kudos to peanuts dad!  I was thinking the same thing as I read that horrible story. I hope that baby killer suffers bad for what she did to that innocent child.  All I can do is hope that karma is for real.  My story's kind of long, but you might want to check it out.

My guess is about 1000 years

Anyone that can kill an innocent baby boy deserves whatever crap comes her way...and yes, I believe Karma is real....what goes around, comes around...how disgusting that she's allowed free to get pregnant again...sickens my stomach.
