I have called the Florida Rural Legal Services they help set up people with pro bono lawyers and they told me that they do not do child custody cases? Does anyone know if this is true? Where can I find help that I can afford? Please help!!!

No, you will not get any help from any legal aid offices and highly unlikely that any lawyer will take a custody case pro bono.

The help you need is at your fingertips. This site has a wealth of information. Procedural issues can usually be resolved with your circuit court. There is a lot of information available on the net otherwise - just need to look around.

What issues specifically are you looking for help on?

It is frustrating that there is no low income assistance for us in this area.

In my experience...most pro bono lawyers will only engage in a child custody case if abuse is involved.  And I think even then sometimes you need to fall within certain income limits. Hope that helps.
