i will try to be short with this , my husband and i were served last week a TRO to keep us from getting his girls for the summer, we were accused falsely of an incident that supposed to have accured in 2004, we drove 7 hrs. to the court yesterday to get there and find out it was cancelled, were told they didnt have to tell us and now we have to wait 14 more days to fight the TRO and try to see our girls we live in TExas we need help we dont have the funds to fight her familys games, her family has strong political ties in this town and frequent the home of the judge, we asked for a change of venue due to this but were denied we need HELP we dont want to lose our rights to these girls and when we seen them in May they begged to come see us so does anyone have andy suggestions

I'd be asking or pointing out the age of the incident (4 years old) and the age of the girls -- like why was this brought up NOW?

And how come the mother didn't try to co-parent in order to resolve this issue?

I'd turn the judge in to the board of ethics and let them deal with is unethical behavior in denying a change of venue.

there are no simple solutions -- are you sure you can't afford an attorney???

Just a little something I found out today.
The Temporary Restraining Order is in effect...But they can NOT enforce it, until after he sees a judge.

not totally true....If he was served then it is in effect..It will not turn permanent until he goes before a judge. Be prepared...we have a RO and they just pushed off it again....they can keep pushing it off.

DO you qualify for legal aid? If not, find a lawyer that will take payments with a small retainer to fight this for you.
