I'm new to this i'm a grandparent in GEORGIA and i'm looking for information, or some organization in GEORGIA that can help me out in being able to see my granddaughter. The mother is using her as a pawn in her vendetta against my son,she has him in jail right now under allegations of stalking, and when she is mad she witholds the baby from us is there any legal means to make her let us see the baby. Please help with as much information as you can,the few times that we have been able to see baby have been precious and it is heart wrenching not to be able to see her, we live in the same town and i see her driving down the road all the time.  THANK YOU

Had the same crap pulled on me, including an RO filled with false allegations. It is a game they play to keep the child from you and the family courts just add to it. On the day I was 'stalking', she was the one who drove by my house, go figure...

Is there any visitation in place? If not, when your son gets out he needs to petition the court for visitation [how I hate that word, a visitor to my son].

Best advice I can give you, your son has to play it cool. Go thru the courts with visitation for his daughter. Everytime he raises his voice, she will call the cops, file charges. I keep a disposable camera in the car with me at all times. Use it. Video record the exchanges, bring a witness who will testify in court. DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT.

Many great articles in the archives, start reading.

Many here will have much more to add.

Hard for the Grandparents, seems like they have no rights at all. My mom cries herself to sleep and her hands are tied. Maybe this site can help you. I know in Illinois, there are no Grandparent rights.

Good Luck!

I don't know Georgia Family Law, but in Texas if the parent is DEAD or incarcerated the Grandparents can get some visitation rights.
