We went to court today and lost the case.  We need some help please!

1) does anyone know any GOOD attorneys in Bell County TX
2) where can I research the laws and statutes
3) where can I find out more about how the child support works
4) are there any fathers rights groups in the Austin/Waco area

These questions will help us get the ball rolling.  We need to immediately take ex to court.  She is going to majorly try to modify the visitation to TX only instead of the air transportation to and from TX and IA.  She is also going to try to raise child support.

Since we see this as a major change of circumstance and would like to try for joint legal custody also.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Lynn

Texas statues link.

I'm not in Bell County but I'll ask around.  You might call
Elizabeth Gonzales in Waco, Texas and ask her.  She's one of the best in the Waco area, but I don't know if she practices in Bell or not.

Texas Attorney General's office sets child support.  It's pretty standard.  That's their website above.

Thank you for the name and both links.  TX and IL have pretty much the same formula, which is good news.  It will now be how closely TX follows it.  We already have the court order and child support determination from IL(had it for 2/3 years).  Texas is supposed to follow it until ex takes us back to court.  Right now IL still has the wage assignment which is fine for us.

We are going to continue gathering evidence, put our foot down with ex more and make her absorb the costs with transfering the case from one state to another.

Thank you,
Lynn
