Visitation being refused by mother

The baby is just two weeks old and I had been informed by some of the mothers friends that she had been saying that I may not be the father of the child. I asked her about this and was told that she did not make these statements. I then asked for a paternity test to make sure as I have learned that I cannot believe most of the things that she says. Anyway, she opposed getting the test done and finally agreed to it last week. The question of when the test was going to be done was posed again today and she told me that she does not want me to visit with the baby again until after the test is done and the results are back. I have been trying my best to act as a father until it is proven/disproven by the test, but now she is saying that I cannot see the child until it is proven. I think this is highly unfair and I am wondering what I should do about it at this time. I called and emailed my attorney but have not heard back from them yet. I want you to know that I really appreciate any and all help from you guys out there. No one should ever have to deal with this.

you're right -- no one should have to deal with stuff like this.

I'd do whatever your attorney tells you.

AND/OR contact DHR/CSE to get the ball rolling for child support which usually means a paternity test will be ordered first.

(And set CS money aside -- don't give it to her -- but put it away so that later, it won't be hard for you to get caught up.)
