What recorse do we have?

Dad has primary custody, mom has EOW visits.  Mom has repeatedly missed visits.  But for the most part, recently has kept a good schedule.
A few months ago, while DS was there, her husband and her had a big fist fight, police involved, they were getting divorced, restraining orders, the whole nine yards.  Got back together.  

Yesterday, same thing happens, only she refuses to press charges, went back to him, but police were called. Allegations of drug use have been mentioned. She has 3 children, only 1 lives with her.  I am worried that he will continue to see this kind of stuff and/or get hurt in the middle of
it.

We are in TX

1. What recorse do we have to keep him from spending the night there for his EOW until all this gets solved, ie she leaves him?

2.  Do we need a lawyer for this or is it something we can do on our own.

File motion for temporary order restricting EOW to supervised visitation, on grounds that mother and new spouse have routinely exhibited physically violent behavior that is an imminent threat to the child.

If you knew how to represent yourself in court, you probably wouldn't be asking this question, huh? Get a lawyer.
