i am 18 years old right now and i am attending purdue university in Indiana.  I recently moved out of my house, about a week before classes and now i live in the dorms on campus.  I did not get along with my parents and they refused to pay my tuition for school.  They also informed me that i would have to continue practicing religious beliefs that i did not agree with as long as i lived in the house. I rarely speak with my parents and they no longer provide with me food, money, shelter or support of any kind.  I have my own job and my own bank account and am able to support myself.  This summer i am planning on living with another family. Then i will be getting my own apartment before school starts again.  I had a huge problem getting financial aid for school because i was still a dependent student and my father`s income was considerably large.  I attempted to change my dependency status but they denied my request because i was unemployed at the time.  How would i go about becoming emancipated? What are the guidlines for the state of Indiana and how long would it take? They cant declare me as a dependent next year because they are not providing for me so eventually something has to be done so that im not floating in financial limbo.  If they continue to try to declare me as a dependent, i will never be able to get financial aid for school. Would the court emancipate me?  Do i have to have my parent`s consent? I imagine that it would not be that hard since i have be taking care of myself for the past 2 months right? Any help or insight would be appreciated.
