LETS GET DOWN TO THE POINT ,JUST HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A NO FAULT DEVORCE IN PENNSYLVANIA??. ANYONE, PLEASE
 HOW LONG CAN YOU OR DO YOU HAVE TO BE APART PRIOR TO
THE DEVORCE BEING GRANTED??

First of all, please do not use all caps......it signifies 'yelling' in the cyberworld.

As for your question, there is NO solid, unequivocal answer.  Every state is different and every case certainly is.  It all depends on what's being fought over, how amicable the parties are........or how much animosity there is between them.  It could be as short as 6-12 months or as long a 5 years.

The reason for the disparaging differences in time is because you're dealing with HUMANS....thus when you consider human nature, nothing is in black and white, cut and dried.  And if you put a strict timeline on it, you could very likely get screwed over majorly, by either the ex or the court........and usually both.

I recommend you surf your state's legislative web site and hunt for your state statutes and laws.  That will give you a start on what you could be looking at.  Many states do have specific periods in regards mandatory time between filing and pre-trial, for example.  But when you throw in custody evaluations, mediation, the ex changing her mind and going for the throat, expect to add on months and possibly years to the final decree.

One other thing, even when you have a final decree, especially where custody and CS is concerned, you can bank on going back to court for modifications.  The more animosity your ex has towards you, the more often you will find yourself back in court.

each case is different, it depends on the parties involved and how willing they are to work with eachother to get this over with.

My husbands took 3yrs 5 months from the time of the seperation.

He still goes back and forth to court now, hopefully it will end soon.

But when you have a cp who only wants $$$ you keep going back and back and if the cp parent denies visitation then you will be going to court for contempt should you pursue it.

So basically there is no set time frame, if the two parents will not work together then it can take many years.
