Question regarding criminal court--not family law

Don't steal.

Not enough facts. The primary issue is the evidence against him. Did anyone other than his boss see him return the goods. Did he sign an apology letter or anything else, or was he recorded, etc?

State must prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt, so the facts are everything to determining guilt.

Probably nothing. But, I suspect that the judge may give a suspended sentence. I'd definitely have a lawyer who knows the judge and prosecutor involved.

He did not tell anyone other than his boss, wasn't recorded in anyway, and did not sign anything; however when he called his boss his boss ended up picking up the stolen property in his driveway.

He also told his lawyer that he has retained.

What is a suspended sentence?  

His bail was only 300 dollars so does that mean that he has a lesser chance of going to jail?

Probation for one to three years, is likely. If no other criminal convictions, then expungement of the prior conviction and seal of the court record (so it will no longer exist).

Sounds pretty minimal when bail is less the the value of the stolen property.
