The government is doing as much to collect her child support as it is trying to collect your child support.  

She has given up.  She simply doesn't want to fight anymore.

It's not just women who are getting away without paying child support.  

It's not just women that the "system" is ignoring when it comes to child support.

My point exactly. The system is an equal opportunity mess.

Having said that, it's important to realize that it's not 'the system'. There are actually at least 50 different child support collection systems. Some of them may actually work well.
