My fiance's ex wife's oldest daughter was born prior to their marriage. In the divorce he was given no legal ties to her whatsoever because she is not his child. Today he received a "Notice of Hearing" from the court due to the child (She's 15) being truant in school & delinquent outside school. The court date is January 22.

Is this document requiring him to go to this hearing? We are also wondering how the court would possibly get his name to send this Notice and what could the fact that they sent it imply?

I am worried that he is being held responsible for her when he is not. Is that a possiblility? Thanks!!

In  WI parents are held responsible for their childs truancy or delinquency.  If the ex had him listed as the father on school documents then he would have to be notified.  It is going to be up to you two to have his name removed from any files involving this child.  Make sure the school and District attorneys office are aware that this child isn't his and he's not respinsible for her.

Call the clerk of courts office in the county where court is and ask them these questions.  And make sure to offer to fax a copy of the divorce decree, or if its in the same county as the divorce they could simply look up the information there.
