Re: application of Peter Zohrab to New Zealand Bar

Dear Dr. Cullen,

We are astounded to hear that your office appears to be considering disqualifying
Peter Zohrab as an attorney, because of his work on behalf of men and fathers.

On that basis, to be fair, you also should dismiss any attorney who has ever
advocated for feminist causes, or indeed, any political or activist cause at all.

That should apply to most attorneys practicing in New Zealand, including most
members of the Wellington District Law Society, who appear to be advocating
a peculiar position typical of what is sometimes called "feminist-jurisprudence",
namely that men and fathers don't deserve to be represented in courts of law.

The rational mind struggles to comprehend how such a peculiar legal position
can possibly be reconciled with the impartiality that must be maintained for the
law to retain any pretense of legitimacy.

We have followed the work of Peter Zohrab for many years, and have always
found him to be professional, factual, objective, and seeking only due process
and equal protection of family law.  We see absolutely no reason why he
should not be admitted to the practice of law.

We expect to hear immediately by return email, either that Peter Zoharb has
been admitted to the New Zealand Bar, or that any member of the Wellington
District Law Society who objects to Peter Zoharb being admitted, has also
been dismissed from the practice of law in New Zealand.

Sincerely,

David A. Roberts,

Are American Husbands Slackers?
By Jeffery M. Leving and Glenn Sacks

http://www.glennsacks.com/are_american_husbands.htm

First the ...."feminist critics compare the work men and women do at home but fail to properly account for their disparate obligations outside the home."

Census data shows that married women with children under 18:
1. only 40% of work full-time,
2. over 25% do not hold a job outside the home.

Bureau of Labor Statistics' 2004:
1. Men spend 1.5 times as many hours working as women do.
2. Full-time employed men still work significantly more hours than full-time employed women.

"When both work outside the home and inside the home are properly considered, it is clear that men do at least as much as women."

"...even these studies understate men's contributions. A man doing eight hours of dangerous construction work in the 100-degree heat is credited with no more "work" than a woman who works in an air-conditioned office or who does childcare or housework in the comfort and safety of her own home (and without a supervisor breathing down her neck)."

Feminists' persistent criticism, combined with women's traditional expectations of their husbands has place men in a double bind.

"A man may be a devoted caretaker of his children or a talented cook, but if he is unable to provide for his family, he is not respected. Yet when a man works long hours to fulfill the breadwinner role which he is still expected to perform, he is blamed for not contributing as much at home as his wife does."
