Psychological Evaluation

Has anyone gone through the psychological evaluation?  We were married 9 years when I caught her with another man, but it was on the spur of the moment and I have no witnesses.  She says she has been unhappy for five years and just didn't say anything.  GO FIGURE!  She is 34 and I am 54 with a 7 year old I want joint physical custody of.  She admits to the mediator that I am a good parent and I have been caring for this son for the last three years while she worked as a nurse with an orthopaedic doctor long hours.  She of course says that the child belongs with her, the mother, and I can have him every other weekend and one day on the off week.  My psychologist, who I started seeing after this divorce news, tells me I should seriously consider the custody evaluation.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

Absolutely consider an evaluation- it may be your best shot at custody. You *must* start keeping records of your involvement in your child's life, especially past involvement that would show what's referred to as being the "primary parent", the one who does most of the day-to-day stuf.

One of the first things you'll hear is "Document, document, document!". Having good records is crucial, so, get yourself either the Parenting Time Tracker (PTT) at: http://www.deltabravo.net/custody/tracker.htm or the OPTIMAL Custody Tracking service at: http://www.parentingtime.net. The PTT is good, but the OPTIMAL service is much better.
