Anyone know the cons of evaluations?

BM requested a forensics evaluation in 2/04 and I have the transcript of that court date.  Her lawyer never put in order, so our lawyer did in 6/04. Forensics report came back in 10/04 and was VERY damaging for BM.  The custody trial began in 12/04 and in 2/05 BM changedlawyers.  BM's new lawyer is blaming old lawyer for everything, like BM's allegations, the whole trial and the forensics evaluation.  He put forth a motion to supress forensics evaluation.  We are of course fighting this motion.

I am told there is very recent debate on the cons of forensics evaluations i custody hearing but I cannot find any info on this.

If anyone has info or links, please pass on the info?
