A 2 year old and a 5 year old, supporting information for joint physcial custody

I am just entering into a divorce. The paperwork is just being filed todayish so we are still months away from a custody evaluation and a hearing. My son is turning 2 years old in a few days. MY wife has con't to nurse him both through the day and even through the night. I have been involved and have a very strong bond with both of my children. i only work 8 days a month and have spent the remaining time at home with the kids. My wife has worked very minimally during their lives. I am seeking joint physical custody of the 50:50 nature but would gladly take sole custody down to 40:60.
I am worried about that because of the childrens age and the nursing that I will have a hard time getting such  an arrangement

We have tried mediation, counseling even offering insane amounts of money without any agreement from my spouse. Does anyone have experience or knowledge that can help me
