That's right...a rally against "father's rights". Can you imagine the outcry if some group tried to stage a rally against "mother's rights"? Anyway, for all NY and Albany residents, here's your chance to attend and counter a hate-fest against fathers. Read the tone of this bulletin and ask yourself if this isn't blatant gender hatred against fathers. I'll sum it up for you:

Most divorce is caused by fathers comitting violence and most fathers who commit violence are also child abusers so why should fathers have any rights? The End.

It's all so simple, see? Fathers don't need any rights because they're the cause of all the problems.

Heads up.

MAY 4th RALLY AGAINST FATHER'S RIGHTS IN ALBANY!

On May 4th, Father's Rights groups from across NY State will be holding
a "lobby day" in Albany.  One of the key goals of the Father's Rights
movement is to change custody laws to allow divorced fathers to have
more access to their children.

What's wrong with that idea?  Read on..

As many as 50% of divorces are a result of family violence  and 70% of
the men who abuse women abuse their children as well.  Furthermore, the
vast majority of fathers who contest custody rulings are men who are
abusive.  Do we really want more "father's rights" for such men?

What's more, many Father's Rights groups are proponents of a bogus
theory called "Parental Alienation Syndrome" developed by Richard
Gardner, a psychologist who thought pedophilia was an acceptable,
loving behavioral expression.  Gardner's theory blames the mother for
planting ideas in the childs head when the child says they've been
abused by their father.  His theory, which has been taken up by
Father's Rights groups, says this is an attempt by the mother to
alienate the child from the father  and that the best way for the
courts to deal with such allegations is to award full custody to the
father.  Frightfully, the FR movement has been influential enough that
some judges now buy into this theory and abusive and sexually abusive
fathers have been awarded custody.

Join Stop Family Violence, NYS National Organization for Women, the
Battered Mothers Custody Conference and others to protest against the
Father's Rights movement on May 4th in Albany. Raise your voice to:

Contradict the false and dangerous propaganda of the Father's Rights
movement.

Oppose the efforts of the Father's Rights lobby to pass legislation
that harms children and mothers.

Support an investigation into Family Court practices that discriminate
against women, punish mothers for trying to protect their children,
sentence children to years of victimization at the hands of abusive
parents, and reward abusive fathers with custody!

Make it clear that we will not be silenced and we will not stop until
women and children obtain justice from the courts!

Tell legisators your story begining at 8:30, press conference at noon.
