Court Ordered Attorney Fees -Help

Hi, I've been ordered to pay my x-wife's attorney fee's.  My dvc ended last march and they gave me 12 months to pay - primarily since i get a lump sum payment in january.  Well, time has come and I can't pay all of it by March 1st.  My questions are - is it possible to get a 90 day extension?  I plan to make 5 payments, but that will make me late by 90 days and I don't want to face contempt.  I've already contacted her laywer directly and her answer was pay all by the date due.  What are my options.  Thanks.
