grandparents with gaurdianship want my kids back

My husband went to jail for 6 months and gave his mother gaurdianship of his 4 children. He was told by his mother when he got housing and a job she would give them back and now she is backing out. How do we go about geting them back?

If the grandparant is legally granted custody, then you will have to petition the court to return it to you. It's up to the court, not the grandparent.

They don't have custody my husband and ex wife still have custody but the grandparents have guardianship. I was told guardianship and custody are 2 different things?
