Hi Soc,

I wrote a post to you the other day and was asking you to read minds, etc.  You told me to wait until the evaluation report was done and see what it said.

Well as I just posted to the previous post the evaluation went in my favor
Woo Hoo!!  What a relief.

To bring you back up to speed I am in WA and the Ex are in CA and that is where our next hearing will be in Oct.

I will most likely be awarded custody again for the report had some very strong convictions by the evaluator about my Ex and his ability to parent and his intentions, etc.

My question to you now is help understand the next steps I have to follow.

I realize that I have to wait for an order and I know that it is not set in stone because the judge has to rule.  However she hand picked this evaluator and in the past has always gone with the recommendation of the this evaluator.

1.  Do I need to use my attorney in WA to change the Child Support or could I contact DSHS for assistance wiht the orders?  Expenses are so high I would like to trim down on costs if I can do this on my own.

2. In the meantime once the orders are granted.  How soon does the court usually take to enforce the actually exchange of the children since this is out of state it is more complicated?

3.  Once the custody is changed am I obligated to continue paying him child support even though I will have legal and physical custody?
( I do not pay through child enforcement)

That is where my dh had his case and we got a well not so good judge, the one before was MUCH better than the one we had for trial. The last judge reduced his time with his children and the GAL omg wont go there as bm and her stalker friends tell the courts and GAL whatever I post here.

Either, or.

If the court orders it, you must usually wait 30 days for the other parent to move for reconsideration or file an appeal. After that, the move would  be immediate.

You should file a motion to modify custody, and request an immediatel cessation of your support obligation, based on the new custody order.
